Depending upon who you believe, it's cost anything
up to £4.3bn to Build the new Terminal 5 at heathrow.

 

And all this after 14 years and £63m of planning and consultation costs; and a workforce of some 4500 people too.

 

Yet......As you'll have no doubt heard, they've had major teething problems, to say the least!

 

Meanwhile, whilst all this was going on, the people at Blackpool International Airport had another plan entirely......

 

They called us in to build a new arrivals terminal to handle their increased traffic, due to new routes added by Easy Jet; and guess what?

 

The whole thing was up and finished in just four weeks - from start to actual opening!

Here's how it looks on the inside just before the first flight arrived.....

OK, so it's not exactly on the same scale as Terminal 5, but at least it works. And I admit, it didn't cost anything like the money Terminal 5 did.......In fact, it cost just a tiny, tiny fraction..........

But like I say.....It works.....And it just goes to prove, if you have more sense than money, a Smart-Space building will save you a fortune compared to the cost of a conventional building, and it will also be supplied
ON TIME and ON BUDGET.

Although you can't tell from this picture, we actually installed the building on relatively rough ground, and had the concrete poured inside the building, and levelled when the building was installed.

So, if you do happen to fly into Blackpool Airport, you'll see for yourself how it works, and how impressive it looks too - in fact, you probably won't even notice it's a temporary building.......

And all this at just the tinyist fraction of the cost of Terminal 5.
